Friday, 1/11/08, "C" Day

English 1 CP (Period 4)

Objective: Students will be able to identify the consequences of Romeo & Juliet's deaths.

In class:

1). Discussed the answer to this question: If you were Juliet, about to wake up alone in the tomb, what would you do when you awoke? What are your options?

2). Finished reading Romeo & Juliet. Class offered reactions to the end.

3). Answered this question: What has happened now that Romeo & Juliet are dead? How does this make us feel?

Homework:

Romeo & Juliet test (Friday 1/18/08). Romeo & Juliet Final Discussion/Review Questions due Wednesday 1/16. Prepare Act V Open-Ended Question for Monday, 1/14.

English 1 CP (Period 7)

Objective: Students will compare and contrast the end of the Romeo & Juliet film with the play.

In class:

1). Open-Ended Question on Romeo & Juliet, Act V.

2). Viewing of film (modern) version of Romeo & Juliet, Acts IV and V.

3). Discussed the ending of the film and how it compared to the original play.

Homework:

Romeo & Juliet test (Thursday 1/17/08). Romeo & Juliet Final Discussion/Review Questions due Monday 1/14.

English 3 CP (Periods 1 & 5)

Objective: Students will compare and contrast the end of the MacBeth film with the end of the written play.

In class:

1). Open-Ended Question on Act V of MacBeth.

2). Viewing of the end of the Roman Polanski 1971 MacBeth film.

MacBeth Review/Discussion Questions, due Monday 1/14. MacBeth Test, Thursday 1/17.
