English 1 CP (Period 7)

Objective: To identify the important elements of strong reflective writing.

In class:

1). Selected quotes that best represent the important elements of Romeo & Juliet.

2). Students responded to the following four questions about their quotes:

-- Why did I choose this quote?

-- What does this quote mean to me?

-- Why is this quote significant or important to the story?

-- What should other people consider when they read this quote?

3). Students began to write reflective paragraphs about their quotes from their notes about the above questions.

Homework:

Second Marking Period Journal Entries, due Thursday 1/24. Romeo & Juliet Reflective Quote, to be used to begin each student's Final Quote Log.

English 3 CP (Periods 1 & 5)

Objective: To identify the meanings behind the terms "chivalry" and "heroic quest."

In class:

1). Completed King Arthur Previous Knowledge Exercise.

2). Defined legend and discussed the Arthurian Legends.

3). Defined chivalry and applied it to the Arthurian Legends.

4). Defined heroic quest and applied it to the Arthurian Legends.
