English 1 CP (Period 4)

Objective:

To identify the key elements of an odyssey.

In class:

1). Wrote down goals that students have accomplished.

2). Defined "odyssey" and "epic." Gave examples of epic works of fiction.

3). Journal: Describe the process you followed to reach your goal. How does your goal fit the definition of an odyssey?

4). Reviewed the key elements on an odyssey.

Homework:

The Odyssey, Assignment 1, due Tuesday 1/29/08.

English 3 CP (Periods 1 & 5)

Objective:

To identify the initial conflict and the main characters in the beginning of Braveheart.

In class:

1). Identified the relationship between Scotland, England, Great Britain, and the United Kingdom.

2). Watched first four chapters of Braveheart on DVD (approx. 30 mins.).

3). Identified the conflicts at the beginning of the film.

4). Reviewed the film's main characters and their relationship to one another.
