English 1 CP (Period 7)

Objective:

To identify the elements of an effective persuasive speech.

In class:

1). Discussed things to do and not do while presenting a persuasive speech.

2). Reviewed persuasive speech rubric and compared it to initial class list of things to do and not do.

3). Watched sample speeches and evaluated them according to the rubric.

Homework:

Prepare "Lady or the Tiger" Vocabulary Part 2. Thing of a controversial topic about which you would like to speak.

English 3 CP (Periods 1 & 5)

Objective:

To define poetic justice and apply it to Dante's Inferno.

In class:

1). Defined poetic justice.

2). Reviewed the sins and the punishments for each of Dante's levels of Hell. Explained how the punishments fit the crimes and therefore illustrated poetic justice.

Homework:

Prepare for Being There/Inferno test Friday. Finish all Inferno questions for tomorrow.
