Objective:

To identify ways Odysseus fails.

In class:

1). Reviewed the timeline of The Odyssey.

2). Discussed Odysseus' failure with the Cyclops (arrogance).

3). Discussed Odysseus' failure with the Sirens (temptation).

4). Discussed whether or not Odysseus fails by choosing the Scylla.

Homework:

Odyssey Assignment 3 for Wednesday.

To identify the ways in which Odysseus learns he can trust Telemachus and Eumaus.

In class:

1). Wrote down all of the ways a person can use to earn another's trust.

2). Reviewed the situation in The Odyssey and why Odysseus needs to look for allies that he can trust.

3). Discussed how Odysseus learns that he can trust Telemachus and Eumaus.

4). Explored alternative ways that Odysseus can learn that his son and swineherd could be trusted.
