English 1 CP (Period 7)

Objective:

To identify which characters remain loyal to Odysseus.

In class:

1). Journal entry: Describe an experience of loyalty from your life (when you showed loyalty to another person, when someone showed loyalty to you, etc.).

2). Discussed loyalty and what it means to be loyal.

3). Worked in groups to identify characters that have shown loyalty to Odysseus. Identified particular actions that proved the loyalty of the characters. Completed the Odyssey Loyalty handout.

Homework:

The Odyssey, Assignment 5. "Lady or the Tiger" Vocabulary Quiz 1 (Words 1-15).

English 3 CP (Periods 1 & 5)

Objective:

To review Braveheart and identify its essential themes.

In class:

1). Vocabulary Quiz #9.

2). Small group discussion of the Braveheart Discussion Questions.

3). Whole class discussion of the Braveheart Discussion Questions.
