English 1 CP (Period 7)

Objective:

To continue reviewing important elements from The Odyssey.

In class:

1). Open-Ended Question from The Odyssey, Assignment 5.

2). Students formulated questions about the areas of confusion in the text.

3). Reviewed and discussed student questions.

Homework:

Prepare for The Odyssey test on Thursday, 2/21.

English 3 CP (Periods 1 & 5)

Objective:

To identify the ways in which television enhances or distorts our perspectives on reality.

In class:

1). Made two lists: 1). Correct answers we learned by watching television. 2). Things we learned from television that turned out to be incorrect.

2). Discussed list. Answered question: What has Chance learned by watching television?

3). Watched a series of clips from various television programs. Discussed whether or not these programs would be helpful to Chance and what he might learn by watching them.

Homework:

Read Being There, chapter 4. Research Paper rough draft, due Wednesday 2/20. Vocabulary Quiz #10, Friday, 2/15.
